Levaquin
Levaquin (levofloxacin) can be prescribed by your health care provider if your immune system has trouble coping with bacteria multiplying in your body and causing some infection. Do not take any vitamins or mineral supplements, as well as antacids within 2 hours before or after you have taken Levaquin as they can make your medicine less efficient. If you are allergic to any other fluoroquinolone antibiotics apart from levofloxacin, such as moxifloxacin, ofloxacin, norfloxacin or lomefloxacin, do not take this medicine as you may have the same reaction again. You do not have to get worried if you have these mild side effects that are most likely to go away on their own without any need for medical intervention: headache, vaginal itching, vaginal discharge, insomnia, nightmares, restlessness, nausea, diarrhea or constipation, muscle pain, mild skin itching and dizziness. You can talk to your health care provider in case these side effects change in intensity, but normally as your body adjusts to the dosage they will disappear. If you missed a dose and it is almost time for a new one you can skip the dose missed and resume your normal dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed, as this is not likely to make your treatment more efficient.
